The PEI Cannabis Management Corporation will be responsible for the distribution and sales of cannabis in Prince Edward Island.
Prince Edward Island's residents will be able to purchase seeds and seedlings and grow up to four plants per household. Plants must be kept in a place inaccessible to minors.
Purchased cannabis must be transported in either the unopened original packaging or, if already open, the product must be secure and inaccessible to anyone in the vehicle.

In one of the four government-run retail locations (Charlottetown, Summerside, Montague, and West Prince) and online through a website also run by the PEI government.
19 years is the minimum age to buy, carry, use, and share.
Public Use will not be allowed. Cannabis use will be permitted only in private residences with the possibility of designated public spaces later on.

Once legalized, all recreational cannabis will be sourced from ACMPR Licensed Producers only. This ensures quality assurance, 3rd party testing, and other important regulations are strictly followed.
All provinces and territories have set 30 grams as the maximum amount an individual can buy or carry in public at a time.
