SUMMARY

The Yukon's regulations on cannabis were approved in the Legislative Assembly in April 2018.

Residents of the Yukon Territories will be allowed to grow up to four plants per residence for personal use.

When transporting cannabis, it must be kept in a closed container and inaccessible to occupants of the vehicle.

The Government of Yukon will be responsible for distribution and sales of Cannabis in the Territory. Supply deals with three licensed producers were announced for the Yukon.

INFORMATION AT A GLANCE

Where to Buy?

By the time of legalization, there will be one e-commerce website and one retail location, both run by the government. Private licensing will follow. Cannabis stores cannot be in co-location with liquor stores.

Legal Age

19 years is the minimum age to buy, carry, use, and share.

Public Use

Public Use will not be allowed at first and will be restricted to privately owned residences and adjoining property with the owner’s consent.

For more information about cannabis regulations in the Yukon Territories, please refer to Yukon's Cannabis Control and Regulation Act and Non-Medical Cannabis.

Once legalized, all recreational cannabis will be sourced from ACMPR Licensed Producers only. This ensures quality assurance, 3rd party testing, and other important regulations are strictly followed.

All provinces and territories have set 30 grams as the maximum amount an individual can buy or carry in public at a time.
